Simple Steps to Detox | The Ultimate Guide


Today we are discussing everything detox. Before we dive into it, let’s first see what ‘detox’ means:


a period when you stop taking unhealthy or harmful foods, drinks, or drugs into your body for a period of time, in order to improve your health:

So there’s that.  And what this definition claims is correct, meaning that you need to let go of ‘harmful foods’ and everything in order to be healthy, but that’s not really what a detox fully is.

So when you research your shizz on a ‘cleanse’ or ‘detox’, you usually find very techincal-complicated-medical-sounding stuff, that you are not really there for. The purpose of a ‘cleanse’ is to remove ‘unwanted’ things from your body, supposedly purify a certain organ, like your liver, or colon, and you’re just not into it for that. Maybe you don’t actually need to purify an organ, you just want to realx a bit and feel better about yourself. And cleanses usually are pretty strict, and after the few blogs I’ve read, the things they tell you to get are FULL of chemicals, which is the EXACT OPPOSITE of why you’re ‘cleansing’ yourself. Of course, not all of them are like that. In my opinion, which might be wrong, a detox is NOT a diet. Again, I am FAR off a professional on this topic, but still. If you just want to feel cleaner and more relaxed in a short period of time, without necessarily dragging yourself into a big responsibility like that, this might be the post for you. This is what I like to call, a “Multi-Detox”, because not only will it make your skin and body feel and look better, it’ll also make you FEEL better.



Step One – Drink Loads Of Water


Hydrating yourself is KEY to a healthier lifestyle, better skin and better body. Try drinking 8-12 glasses a day, and when you do, don’t just chug it in all at the same time, to get it done. You need to do tiny sips every 5 minutes, so that you don’t just wee all the water out, because that ain’t hydrating. If, for some reason, you don’t like the taste of water, I also like adding a few lemon wedges in it, it just gives it such a nice and refreshing flavour!






Step Two – Replace Sugars


Sugar is ‘sweet cocaine’, or ‘white death’, and it seems that today it is put in absolutely EVERY food item there is. Even in YOGHURT. I actually went to my local supermarket a few days ago and looked for a yoghurt with absolutely no sugar in it, and even the ones that say “100% BIO” had around 3 or 4 grams of sugar, which is CRAZY! The ONLY yoghurt in the store that I found that truly was sugar-free, was a soy one, that I had experienced before and tasted HORRIBLE. And all this rave about sugar being put in aliments started from a TV show segment I saw a couple days earlier, and it FREAKED me out! We apparently consume about 2 TONS of sugar each year! CRAZY. I thought it was straight-up BS, but I researched it, and apparently it is true. On aliments, sugar has hundreds of ‘nicknames’, whether it’s ‘Carbohydrates of which sugars’, ‘carrot extract’, ‘sugar cane extract’, it’s everywhere. A great replacement for sugar is stevia, and if you want to completely detox yourself, you might as well eat homemade foods with stevia instead of sugar.



Step Three – Exfoliate


Not only will exfoliators brush away the dead skin and will leave your skin baby-soft, they will actually also brush away toxins from your face, and you’ll just feel better in general. They’re also really fun to do  😉

This is my favourite exfoliator/scrub recipe, it always increases my mood and makes my skin feel very nice:

Organic Chocolate Scrub:

  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • half a teaspoon of powdered carob

You just mix them all together and slightly brush your face with it, then wash it off with some water. It’s amazing!






Step Four – Have a 30-minute Walk Every Evening


We’ve talked about this before, so you know what a walk can do, for me at least. It just helps making my mind up and sorting my thoughts out. It also is great to get out the house more often, and I recommend you go out in the evenings, especially now since it is summer, because you won’t get too hot, it will be the right amount of warm and you’re also moving your body, which is super important.

Step Five – Sleep More!


I see you, all-nighters, taking Buzzfeed quizzes at 3 am to find out what kind of fruit you are, or what % chances you have of being an alien, or which one of Beyonce’s twins you are, I SEE YOU. Seriously though, try to go to bed before midnight, I’m still personally working on that, but my goal is to be able to fall asleep the moment I put my head on my pillow. A great hack for that is not sleeping with your electronic devices in the room, because A) They radiate you, and B) They might disturb your slumber, so yeah. Also, sleeping more is just going to obviously make you feel more hyped and stuff like that, and who doesn’t like sleeping?? I could stay in all day and sleep. It’s my favourite thing ever, after eating. Oh my god, I’m slowly turning into Garfield. You know, that ginger cat that did NOTHING but sleep and eat lasagna? ME AF. Anyway, if you are having trouble falling asleep, drink a glass of vanilla soy milk with a bit of honey in it. You’ll be set to bed in no time, it’s amazing!

Greetings, Hot Weather|Summer Essentials

Hey, y’all

Holy cow, this school year has gone by faster than twitter drama. Not funny.

And, since we have reached this glorious time of the year, where we either have to hide from the death ball in the sky and stay as secure as possible in this *hot* mess of a weather (get it), or just go outside and enjoy the su-…is that what normal people do?

So today we are talking about essentials, which I’m going to show through these a e s t h e t i c a l l y  p l e a s i n g  photos. Here you go! Enjoy  😀


The Actual List:

  • Sunnies

Sunglasses are so very important, not only because they protect your eyeballs, but they also make things much easier and comfortable to look at and spice up your outfit, which is what makes them absolute essentials.



  • Sun Lotion + SPF Chapstick

This one is pretty staple, like “yeah, we get it, sun lotion, whatever.” WELL, since it’s so basic you MUST wear it, it will save yer butt later on. Also, buy SPF chapstick, since your lips are just as important as your skin. Trust me, it’s worth it.



  •  Tilted Lip Balm + Moisturising Balm

You may not believe this, but my lips actually get twice as dry and chapped in summertime as they do in wintertime. Maybe it’s because of those REALLY hot summers, where the air is always so dry, they just affect my lips. So that is also very important.


  • Bomb-ass Shower Gels

Since the weather is obviously a lot hotter, you’re probably gonna take a few more showers than usual, which means you’re gonna go through a lot of shower gels, which also means that you’re gonna smell like them for some time, so you might as well just get the best scents EVER. My personal favourites are Peony and Juniper Breeze by Bath and Body Works. Peony is just a bit more floral and sweeter and gives me the idea of roses, and then we have Juniper Breeze, which reminds me of a hot summer day underneath an apple tree. Very refreshing! Here are the key notes:

Juniper Breeze: Juniper Leaves, Green Apple, Blue Jasmine, Fresh Woods, Dewy Musk


  • Fragrance

You obviously need a fragrance, and my personal fave is Black Opium, smells lovely!


  • Waterproof Mascara

Pool parties, eh? Naaaaah. But if that is your thing, waterproof mascara is always a priority, or just every day, when the air is especially humid.


  • A Good Blush and A Pinky Lipstick

If you want a look to look more natural, the ideal way is with bronzer, or blush in my case, since I get reaaally tan in the summer. Like literally. My skin tone gets like 847 shades darker. Not kidding.

I personally find that summertime makes lipsticks look 3 times better, but I think pinky lipsticks look the best out of all, but we all have different personal opinions.



  • Sunhats

Do we even have to say anything about this? Do you want to get insolation? No? Good, then wear a damn sunhat. Plus, they look real cute.


  • Cute and Comfortable Sandals

Our feet need a break. They need to breathe. And how do you get that to happen? Sandals. But who wants to spend a whole 7 and a half minutes putting them on? That’s why they have to be comfy and easy to slip into. Those are the ideal shoes ❤

Skincare Bits I’m Currently Obsessed With

Hey, y’all

So, for me, my skin is A GIFT FROM THE GAWDS. Lol, but seriously, I try to treat it the way it’s supposed to be treated. So here are 5 bits that I consider are absolute essentials

1.Dead Sea Hand Cream

You know. I’m quite picky with hand cremes, since I absolutely HATE the greasy sensation it leaves afterwards. It’s as if someone would stroke a balloon or something cringey like that. Like, BLOODY HELL.

Anyway, so I actually recently got this from a friend that went to Israel ( so I have no idea where to get it from :/ sorry m8 ) and instantly fell in love with it. It feels just a bit scrubby, which is SOO satisfying, and it hydrates my skin like NO OTHER. My skin feels in te end hydrated, not greasy. Win win win!


2. L’Oreal Skin Perfection

I personally love this one and I use it before face masks, since it helps unclog pores AND get rid of potential spots that might appear.

But, when I’m feeling like a good girl, I rub it on my face to go to bed feeling all fresh and set too sleep. Also, when I go to parties and I might have played a bit with make-up *cheeekyy* it takes it off so easily. This is like a 3-in-one combo! Bloody perfection ( get it, cause like its name already has ‘perfection’ in it, like.. alright I’ll go home )


3.Dove Rich Nourishment Cream

Similar to the first one, but I like to use it on less ‘serious’ cases. Still great, though. Again, chose it because it doesn’t leave my skin greasy at all. Love it!



Bio-oil is an item that pretty much changed my life. I used it on old scars and worked amazing! It’s also hydrating and nourishing, which is always good, so yah.


5. Jojoba Oil

Jojoba oil is great for your nails. It actually is the main ingredient of many high-quality cuticle oils, so yeah, now you know. I also use it on my face sometimes, when I just feel like it. Long story short, jojoba oil is great.

The Ultimate Workout Playlist

I don’t know about you, but my workouts are radically different when I have headphones on, than when I don’t. I feel like music makes me stronger. I know, it sounds cheesy, but it’s true.

This blog post came to my mind last night, when I was working out. I was so bored of hearing the same old words from Cassey Ho ( love you girl ). So I decided to get my headphones and just watch her moving and do the same. And let me just tell you, I was listening to “Lemonade” (obviously), and the song was “Formation”. My legs were BURNING, but at the same time, the song was at the “I slay” part, which f#cking slays my entire existence. Anyway, so when the trumpets started singing and my ears were soooo satisfied ( not in a weird way tho ) and she kept saying “I slay”, I actually felt like I slay. So I went faster and faster, I couldn’t feel any kind of pain, I was just quietly singing along. I felt amazing. So, that’s why I decided to write this for you.

5 Ways To Cheat on Smoky Eyes

Hm…What’s the hardest thing to do in makeup for non-skilled individuals? Smoky Eye. Now, eyeshadows can be reaaally expensive and I bet you’re like: “Oh, HELL NO. I’m buying colored eyeliners from the drugstore.” So now you have about 284 colored eyeliners and no idea what to do with them. Here are 10 easy ways to achieve a Smoky Eye look.

1. #SmokyEyesOnFleek

Create a Smoky Eye by drawing a “#” or an “@” symbol at the outer corner of your eyes like so, then blend away. This actually BLEW my mind.

2. “V” Smoky Eye

So, I was on Tumblr when I saw this one and it’s stupid easy.

You just draw a “V” at the outer corner of your eyes and blend. God bless Tumblr.

3. Big, Smoky Eyes

Let’s say you want your eyes to look bigger. Here’s how:

 Make small eyes appear larger by drawing lines at the outer corners of your lids and up toward the brow bone.

4. Quotation Marks Smoky Eye

It’s so easy, you won’t believe it.

You just draw quotation marks at the inner corner of your eyes to create a Smoky Eye. Damn. Then just blend away.

5. Chilled Smoky Eyes

Just apply eyeliner on your eyes, especially a Cat Eye, and blend it in, along with your life issues. You can, of course, just draw a line.
